Loek Grootjans’ multifaceted oeuvre started with monochrome painting which soon ended in a month long restraint in absolute darkness. This experience evolved in several new extensive oeuvres such “The Final Remains of a Contemporary Monochrome Painter” and “The Storage of Distorted Matter”. In 1998  Grootjans created the a gigantic construction to classify his work in departments: “Foundation for the benefit of the aspiration and understanding of context”.

 

In 2008 Grootjans started building his Storage For Distorted Matter.

In AnnieGentilsGallery part of this Storage (CaseM.B.) a showcase about the meeting of Grootjans with the works and heritage of Marcel Broodthaers, and proposals in watercolour will be shown.
