Ruben Kindermans: We're Number One!
video installation and objects
Ruben Kindermans is often the protagonist in his video installations: Playful and banal actions, often related to the world of sports and music, compose the central theme in his work. Like some sort of indifferent anti-hero, he creates little dramas, full of humour and invention. “We’re Number One” is the second solo show in the gallery. (“Hole in One”, 2007)
Ruben Kindermans (°’1981) studied arts at the academy of St.-Lucas in Ghent and at HISK in Antwerp.
At this moment, he works as a musician (Nomad), as a video-artist and as a performer (together with Wannes Goetschalckx). He lives and works in Kortrijk Belgium.

Pieter Geenen
"Land ahead"
video and photo installation
“Land ahead “is Pieter Geenen first soloshow in the gallery showing video and photographic works from the 'gaze' series, 'ansicht' series and others. The fact that Pieter Geenen studied photography may have inspired him to make videos in which the image manifests itself slowly. In his work Pieter Geenen mostly uses video, audio and photography to question the landscape, and geo-political and geo-social realities in general. Pieter Geenen explores the subtle, hidden and 'slow' characteristics of things, the vague boundaries of the visible and the audible (and how they relate to each other), and investigates the thin line between the moving and the static image. Listening and watching becomes intense, intimate, alienating, contemplative and almost tangible in the context of an undisturbed stillness.
Pieter Geenen (°1979) lives and works in Brussels, Belgium.
After his Masters in Photography he studied at Transmedia Postgraduate Program in Arts, Media & Design in Brussels.
His work has been presented at the International Film Festival Rotterdam (NL), Argos Centre for Media & Art (Brussels, BE), MuHKA_media (Antwerp, BE), Courtisane Festival (Ghent, BE), Stadsgalerij (Heerlen, NL), Azad Art Gallery (Tehran, IR), Art Rotterdam (NL), All Art Now International Video Art Festival (Damascus, SY), Images Festival (Toronto, CA), EMAF (Osnabrück, DE), Media City Festival (Windsor, CA), Synoptic Visionaudial Art Meeting (Pécs, HU), Onion City Festival (Chicago, US), Crosstalk Festival (Budapest, HU), VAD Festival (Girona, ES), TIME Festival (Ghent, BE), Les Rencontres Internationales Paris (FR) and at the Venice Biennial (IT).
